Welcome Terrance Barkan, CAE
Terrance Barkan, CAE recently joined our great federation FIABCI as Executive Secretary General. Mr. Barkan is focused on supporting FIABCI Chapters and Principle Members by making FIABCI the platform of choice for anyone involved in international real estate issues to network, share information and transact business. As a global real estate federation, FIABCI is unique in its ability to bring the broadest range possible of real estate professionals, finance, owners and investors together.
Mr. Barkan is a former Board Member of the European Society of Association Executives (ESAE); the Vice Chair of the International Section of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and brings a wealth of experience and insight to help associations to build their capacity for global growth. In addition, he has also served as a special advisor to the Chinese Federation of Industrial Economics in Beijing, China, an umbrella group that includes most of the major Chinese trade associations. He is recognized as a Global Thought Leader on international association management issues and his experience has taken him to more than 50 countries around the world on association development projects on six continents. As a matter of fact, Terrance once held a Series 22 Financial NASD Securities licenses and previously held a Commercial Real Estate Broker’s License when he was involved in the sale of commercial office and multi-tenant properties a number of years ago.
Terrance is world renown for his expertise in leading organizations such as FIABCI and is committed to providing greater value for our membership, increasing member networking opportunities and supporting our member business practices – especially in these economic times. His reputation is stellar and we are fortunate he is joining our team. His efforts and expertise will impact every FIABCI member and position our organization as an even stronger leader within the international arena.

FIABCI Scholarship Foundation Unveils First Online Auction
The FIABCI Scholarship Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization which gives grants to universities and those who want to study international real estate or business, is holding its first online auction from August 3-September 4, 2009. The Scholarship Foundation will also hold a live auction at the FIABCI-USA Fall Business Conference in Denver on September 12.
