On September 4th, the EBZ Business School -University of Applied Sciences was awarded the status of a FIABCI Partner University. The President of FIABCI Germany, Hans-Ulrich Berendes, ceremoniously handed over the certificate to Klaus Leuchtmann, head of administration. FIABCI (Federation Internationale des Biens Conseils en Administrateurs Immobiliers / The International Real Estate Federation) is the international association of real estate professionals. FIABCI promotes international business relations in the real estate sector and the exchange of information about real estate business, market conditions etc.
Of course, the FIABCI network also includes cultural exchange and the transfer of knowledge in educational matters. The FIABCI University and the FIABCI Diploma are an international standard in education in the field of international real estate transactions.
"The status of FIABCI Partner University offers great opportunities for our students," said head of administration Klaus Leuchtmann. "Being member of FIABCI, our students have the opportunity to gain work experience abroad, to attend international conferences and to acquire the FIABCI Diploma in International Real Estate “.
This is possible because the curriculum of the EBZ Business School’s Bachelor of Arts Real Estate and Master of Arts Real Estate Management fully meet the requirements of the FIABCI standards. Berendes: "We apply high standards for accreditation and are very pleased that the EBZ Business School is able to comply with these requirements so soon after its foundation." Having the status of a FIABCI Partner University, the EBZ Business School will enhance its international contacts.

Our Winter Meeting and Networking Luncheon was considered an enormous success as it was a ‘first’ in more ways than one.
The UK Chapter of FIABCI, Presided over by Bill Jackson, held their winter Board Meeting at The Royal Thames Yacht Club in Knightsbridge on Wednesday 9 December 2009 where the World President, Lisa Kurrass, also attended. The Board opened the meeting to all members of FIABCI at midday when they were invited to participate. This was the first time members had been invited so it was encouraging to see that several of our own members be present including overseas members such as the recently elected President Elect and his wife, Antonio and Adriana Campagnoli from Italy, Osita Okoli, President of the African Region and Aline Chambre from Colorado.
The new style buffet luncheon had a Christmas flavour with a delicious turkey stroganoff and the chef, staff and venue at the Royal Thames being as first-rate as usual overlooking Hyde Park in Knightsbridge, Central London.
The lively meeting started with plenty of networking and introductions whilst having aperitifs. It was wonderful to see other overseas visitors networking including Kirkor Ajderhanyan from Nice, France and Farook Mahmood from Bangalore, India.
During the cheese, coffee and mints courses, members were invited to take the spotlight and speak about themselves and promote their businesses, something Christopher Hall, President of FIABCI Networking Task Force is encouraging worldwide. All in all, this was a meeting which was about the very spirit of FIABCI – opening the international community to our members, and helping members acquire knowledge, develop networks and optimise business opportunities all over the world.
